- Takhti (تختی, the wooden slate madrasa children memorize from) is a free web app that behaves like a patient Quran teacher. Tap any word to hear it, loop an ayah or a group of ayahs the way a hifdh teacher drills them, hide the words after a few repeats, and test yourself. It is for anyone memorizing or learning to read the Quran, at any age: a child on an iPad, an adult doing hifdh after work, a parent or teacher sitting beside a student.
- Is it free? Are there ads or accounts?
- Yes, free, and it stays free. No ads, no accounts, no sign-up wall, no streaks or badges. Nothing you do in it is sent anywhere; the few things it remembers (favourite reciters, text size, where you left off) stay on the device.

- How do the hifdh tools work?
- Listen plays a surah straight through, with speed, an ayah loop and a sleep timer. Learn to read says each word, then the ayah, at a pace you choose, and can pause so you say it back. Memorize follows the classic chain: each ayah a few times, then growing groups (1, then 1 to 2, then 1 to 3...), then the whole passage, hiding the words once they should be known. Review and Test play the passage with the text visible or hidden. Every houseofquran.com setting is there under its original name.
- Can a teacher send a student today's lesson?
- Yes. Every setting lives in the link. Set the surah, ayahs and mode, press Share, and text the link. It opens with that exact lesson loaded, on any phone, with no app to install.

- Takhti is a 2026 rebuild of the House of Quran Quran Teacher, made mobile first. It keeps their vocabulary and modes so their users feel at home, and credits them as the original. It is not affiliated with houseofquran.com.
- Who built it?
- Imarah, Software for Masajid, based in Milpitas, California. Takhti began as a revamp of the House of Quran teacher that a hifdh student in the Imarah family used every day, rebuilt for today's phones and tablets, and offered free to everyone.
